What's in Wolf's Bane Balsam?
At the heart of our Wolf's Bane Balsam is Arnica montana flower extract, a botanical ingredient with a long history of traditional use in massage and body-care preparations.
We've combined it with a distinctive blend of:
- Ginger essential oil - provides a wonderfully warm, spicy aroma that's perfectly suited to massage.
- Curcuma essential oil - an aromatic botanical oil derived from turmeric, complementing the warming character of the blend.
- Clove bud essential oil - brings a rich, warming and spicy note.
- Patchouli essential oil - adds a deeper, earthy aroma to balance the brighter essential oils.
- Lemongrass essential oil - provides a fresh, citrusy note that lifts the entire blend.
These botanical ingredients are combined with coconut oil, shea butter and olive wax to create a rich balm that melts easily onto the skin and provides plenty of glide for massage.
Why is it called Wolf's Bane?
The name deserves a little explanation!
The botanical used in our balm is Arnica montana, which has sometimes been associated with the common name "wolf's bane".
It should not be confused with Aconitum, another plant commonly known as wolfsbane or monkshood, which is highly toxic.
Our Wolf's Bane Balsam contains Arnica montana flower extract and does not contain Aconitum.

Hi Karen, Can wolfs bane balsam be used to massage into tired muscles in neck and shoulders?
Hi penelope,
Thank you for your question and apologies for the slow reply.
Yes it absolutely can! It is very warming and soothing so would be perfect for tired muscles. It is perfecto to use as and when you need to.
Hope that helps.
Best wishes
Karen

I have been very fortunate to be a tester for this product. It smells nice, smooth to rub in and you only need a little as it spreads well and no oily transference to material. I have been using for over 2 months now on my dodgy knees! I have arthritis/wear in both and heading for knee replacements. I have been in quite some pain but within days I noticed a small improvement, within just a few weeks I found major improvements. Less pain and ease of movement. Twice I stopped using for a few days (away, forgot to pack) & did i know it! On starting again the symptoms disappeared quite quick! Till I started trialing this i had to drop my visits to the gym/some equipment used but now am back to my previous level. This has changed much of my life!
