How does a cleansing oil work?

The lipophilic compounds in oils work like magnets, attracting sebum, dirt and make-up, then dissolving them so they can be easily and gently removed.

Benefits of a cleansing oil

  • effective removes impurities without scrubbing, even waterproof make-up
  • gentle on the skin, preserving natural moisture
  • hydrating, the nourishing oils hydrate and soften, leaving skin smooth rather than tight or dry.
  • sunflower lecithin allows the oil to create an emulsion, allowing it to be washed away without leaving an oily residue
  • Non-comedogenic - will not block pores, allowing skin to breathe and keeping it free from breakouts.

What's in it?

  • Grapeseed oil (Vitis vinifera seed oil) is lightweight and rich in linoleic acid and omega-6 fatty acids. It helps maintain the skin’s natural barrier, preventing moisture loss.
  • Raspberry seed oil (Rubus idaeus seed oil) is packed with omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, antioxidants, and Vitamin E, helping to keep skin hydrated and soft.
  • Rosehip oil (rosa canina seed oil) - rich in linoleic and linolenic fatty acids, strengthens skin barrier preventing moisture loss
  • Sea buckthorn oil (Hippophae rhamnoides fruit oil) is rich in vitamins A, C, E, and K, antioxidants, and omegas 3, 6, 7, and 9, helping to support skin health and appearance while leaving a radiant glow.
  • Sunflower lecithin enhances absorption, helping other ingredients penetrate deeper into the skin. It can also help soothe conditions like rosacea and eczema by reducing inflammation.

For the Love of Earth Cleansing oil contains no allergens.

How do I use it?

  • Start with dry hands and face this allows the oil to absorb the impurities without being diluted.
  • Place about 15–20 drops of oil into the palm of your hand; if you’re wearing heavy waterproof makeup or lots of sunscreen, you can add a little extra..
  • Gently massage the oil into your face for 2 minutes, following the arrows on the diagram, and focus on areas with heavier makeup or sunscreen.diagram of a face with arrows showing the direction of massage.
  • Use a dry cloth to wipe away the oil and impurities, again following the direction of the arrows.
  • Rinse the cloth in hot water and wipe over your face to remove any remaining oil.
  • Gently pat skin dry.
  • Depending on your skin type you can now follow with toner or moisturiser or you may find you don't need either.
